Meet the Artist
About Michael M. Ponce

The work of Michael Ponce is an ongoing dialogue between the structured and the organic, the ancient and the modern.
Drawing deeply from Puerto Rican heritage and the rugged textures of the New England coastline, the artist utilizes a wide array of mediums—from traditional oils to heavy-body acrylics and newsprint collage—to explore themes of identity, memory, and geological time.
Whether working with the sacred petroglyphs of the Taino or the rigid grids of urban architecture, their practice is defined by a mastery of texture and a keen eye for atmospheric depth. Having exhibited at institutions such as Endicott College, the artist continues to push the boundaries of abstraction, seeking the “hidden pulse” that connects our cultural histories to the physical world we inhabit.
